Objectives

• The primary objective of the project was to develop a robust Computer-Based Test (CBT) system to:

• Automate the test creation, administration, and scoring process.

• Enhance test security through encryption and digital measures.

• Improve consistency and reliability in test delivery and scoring.

• Offer advanced features like immediate scoring, graphical result representation, and personalized feedback.

Solution Overview

The Online Test Center software was designed with the following features:

User/Student Features

• Login Page: Students access the platform through a secure login, selecting pre-defined information from a dropdown menu managed by the admin.

• Instructions Page: Displays test instructions set by the admin, ensuring students are well-informed before starting.

• Timer and Alerts:

  • A countdown timer displays the remaining time for the test.

  • Alerts notify students at 10 and 5 minutes before the test ends.

  • Automatic test closure once the time limit is reached.

• Test Navigation:

  • Students can skip questions and revisit them later.

  • Skipped questions are highlighted, and a dedicated session is provided to address them.

  • Previous and next buttons allow students to review and change answers.

• Question Types: Multiple-choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blanks, single-answer, and multiple-answer formats.

• Result Calculation and Analysis:

  • Results are displayed immediately after test submission.

  • A graphical summary shows chapter-wise performance and correct answers.

• Certificate Printing:

  • Students can print a predefined certificate with their results.

  • The print button is disabled after the first print to ensure proper record-keeping.

• Answer Comparison:

  • Students can review all questions, correct answers, and their responses on a single page for learning purposes.
